Uncle Gene worked for John McCormack of South Boston, Mass. from 1928 until his death in 1969. In 1928, John McCormack won his first election to the U.S. House of Representatives, and McCormack hired Uncle Gene to be his administrative assistant, running McCormack's Washington, D.C.
