Wisner Church Scene of Wedding
Miss Eulilah Minds, Wisner, became the bride of Lawrence L. Doffin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Doffin, Stanton, Sunday afternoon, Nov 24, 1963, at 2 pm at Zion Lutheran Church south of Wisner. Rev O.W. Faszholz officiated at the double ring ceremony. E.A. Luebke served as organist and Robert Rabe Jr, Wisner, sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer". Ushers were Gayle Vollmer, Beemer, and Richard Rudebush, Omaha.
Given in marriage by her uncle, Carl Vollmer, Wisner the bride wore a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace and misty nylon tulle. The basque bodice of lace was fashioned with a scalloped, sabrina neck- line and was sprinkled with pearls and sequins. Her veil of imported French illusion was caught to a crown of lace and orange blossoms and she wore a crystal necklace and earrings, a gift from the groom. Her bouquet was of baby-pink, sweetheart roses and feathered mums.
Mrs. Forrest Hansen, Wisner, was her sister's matron of-honor. Miss JoAnn Doffin, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. Both wore princess style dresses of China blue crystalette, featuring three quarter length sleeves, scoop necklines and full skirts, accented at the back with a large bow. They wore matching hats, shoes and white mitts and carried white feathered mums with a pink sweetheart rose and pink streamers. Miss Debra Lynn Hansen, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress was nlyon organdy as was her matching headpiece. She carried a small bouquet of white mums, centered with a pink sweetheart rose.
Candlelighters were Kathy Sue Vollmer, Beemer, and Wisner. Susan lore Manticai Wiene: of blue crystal acetate with full skirt, puffed sleeves and a back bow. Mrs. Vollmer, aunt of the bride, wore an afternoon dress of nylon sheer in heaven-blue taffeta and a white satin hat and gloves. Mrs. Doffin wore an afternoon dress of mink brown, brocaded satin and matching hat and white gloves. Both wore corsages of white mums and pink sweetheart roses.
Best man was Danley Doffin, Stanton, brother of the groom, and Everett Minds of Wisner, brother of the bride, was the groomsman. Tommy Coligan was ring bearer. He carried the rings on a white satin, heart shaped pillow.
The groom and his attendants wore white dinner jackets and dark trousers and white carnation boutonnieres. Following the wedding a reception was held in the church social room with 175 guests attending. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Reinhardt, Wayne, served as host and hostess. ...
For her wedding trip the bride wore a beige wool suit with fur trim and bronze accessories. Following a short wedding trip to the southern states the couple will reside at 1111 Ave. D in Wisner, where Mr. Doffin is employed at Erb's Feed and Supply.
