Introduction

Eva Lazier Brown was my maternal great grandmother. Her daughter, Cecelia Brown Friedman was my Grandmother. Cecelia Brown Friedman died in the Spanish Flu Pandemic in October 1918. My father was born in March of 1918 and never knew his mother. Cecelia's husband, Samuel Friedman died in the second wave of the Spanish flu pandemic the following year. I have never seen a photo of either of them.

She gave birth to my dad's mother, Celelia and lost her at the age of 25. After Cecelia's husband died my dad was an orphan.

Eva and her family took in my father and I believe that they were not kind to him.
