Fanny Mule Montalbano came to the United States from Sicily leaving her parents behind and traveling to the United States with her husband joseph Montalbano it may have been part of Sicilian emigration to America but not too sure i do know when she arrived in the united states she could not speak a word of English she taught herself and she made all her own clothes nice beautiful clothes so i gather she was a seamstress of sorts from what I hear she dressed to the 9s and she developed a love of the horse races i do not know anything of her single life in Sicily i am going by stories i have never met my grandmother in person

i think she was born in Palermo City in Sicily, when she left there, they settled in Brooklyn NY where she lived with her husband joseph who worked as a tailor in a men's shop and Fannie stayed at home, they started their family they had three children a son Nicholos daughter rose and last but not least Charlie all children were born in the United States

Almost all Sicilians are Roman Catholic. Devotion to Mary in her maternal role is particularly strong, and she, as well as saints such as Joseph, Agatha, Anthony, Lucy, and Rosalia, are revered as intercessors. so, i am going to say my grandma was in this group of Catholics

Fannie Montalbano of Brooklyn, Kings County, New York was born on March 24, 1902. in Sicily she was predeceased by her lifelong love of her life joseph together they had 3 children Nick. Rose and Charlie, they resided in king's county NY every Sunday it was spaghetti day fannies house where she would cook for her family an Italian tradition i would have loved to have been seated at that table with my mother eating my grandmother's spaghetti i was never that Fortunate, I just wish i could have met her
