Ferdinand Wuenschel II became a naturalized citizen in November of 1942. He passed away in Sierra Vista, Cochise, Arizona, USAon May 26, 1962. Ferdinand Wuenschel III's mother, Ruth, was born on October 18, 1894 in Speyer, Pfalz, Germany and departed from Bremen, Germany on June 21, 1928 and arrived in New York City, New York, USA on July 2, 1928. She resided in Granville, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA and then moved to Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA. Hermine became a naturalized citizen on November 11, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. A few months later, he re enlisted on June 18, 1948 and served for an additional almost 50 years until his discharge on February 18, 1991. He was a Retired Capt in the US Army Signal Corps.

In 1925, by the time he was just 6 years old, in July, the Scopes Trial - often called the Scopes Monkey Trial - took place, prosecuting a substitute teacher for teaching evolution in school. Tennessee had enacted a law that said it was "unlawful to teach human evolution in any state-funded school". William Jennings Bryan headed the prosecution and Clarence Darrow headed the defense. The teacher was found guilty and fined $100. An appeal to the Supreme Court of Tennessee upheld the law but overturned the guilty verdict.
