Fern Kohler, 96, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, in New Brighton, MN. Fern was born September 1, 1925, in Cottonwood, MN, to Arza and Leonora Parker. She was united in marriage to Arnold Kohler. Their first child was Sharon "Kohler" Hedges, born April 19, 1945 and their second child, Deborah "Kohler" Snyder, was born October 28, 1953. Fern and Arnold were involved in ministry in the Salvation Army and founded Woodcrest Baptist Church in Fridley, Minnesota. She loved to play piano and sing in church. Arnold passed away in 1984 and Sharon passed away in 2013. Fern lived at Brightondale Assisted Living until her death. Fern was a long time employee of Honeywell beginning at the Stinson Blvd. location and eventually worked in death and retirement benefits at the General Offices location in Minneapolis. The most important thing in Fern's life was her relationship with the Lord and for many years she led a Bible study for approximately 20 women in her home into her late 80's. A favorite Bible verse of her's was Phillipians 1:21, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain". She made it her life goal to encourage people to have a personal relationship with the Lord. Fern and Arnold loved traveling, especially in their fifth wheel. Her favorite trip was when they went to Alaska. Fern is survived by her child, Deborah Lynn (Bill) Snyder; grandchildren, Shane (Cathy) Snyder and Megan (Josh) Krape, Melissa (Justin) Shedivy, Grant Hedges and Bryan Hedges; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madelyn and Margaret Snyder, Hannah Shedivy and Everett Krape.
