She had siblings Mabel Lottie Rosina Mawson, Rosinda Grace Olive Lilian (Mawson) Byrne, Gladys Irene May Mawson, Colin Victor Mawson, and Archie Edwin Mawson. She married John Nelson Reynolds in 1926, and had a child Florance Reynolds. Florence Reynolds died at age 75 years old on August 28, 1979 in Winchelsea.

In 1916, she was just 13 years old when suffragette Jeannette Pickering Rankin became the first woman elected to the House of Representatives as a Representative at large from Montana.
