She had siblings Isaac Edward Hooley, Maria Hooley, Frances Hooley, Elizabeth Hooley, Mary Hooley, Thomas Hooley, William Henry Hooley, Alfred George Harding Hooley, and Albert Ernest Hooley. She married Walter Owen Bate in 1906, and had children Frederick Gordon Bate, Mary Florence Halley Bate Johnston, and Walter Richard Bate. Florence Bate died at age 89 years old on October 22, 1970 in Surrey Hills.
