Floyd Edward Vail of Norwich, Chenango County, NY was born on May 15, 1894 in Carbondale, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania United States to Grant C. Vail. He married Daisy M. (Glasser) Vail in 1919 and they later divorced. He had children Erdella I Homanich, Stanley E Vail, and Milton Grant Vail. Floyd Vail died at age 77 years old on December 9, 1971 in Norwich, Chenango County, NY, and was buried at Caanan Corners Cemetery 242 Owego Turnpike, in Waymart, Wayne County, PA.

    VAIL--Floyd E. Vail, 77, Norwich, N.Y., died unexpectedly Thursday at his home where he had resided the past five months. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Harder, two daughters, Mrs. Norman [Jessie] Seeley, Owego, N.Y., Mrs.George [Erdella] Homanich, Endicott.; four sons, Stanley E. Vail, Vestal; Milton G. Vail, Milwaukee, Wis., Warren G. Vail, San Jose, Calif., David J. Vail, Sunnyvale, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence [Ina] Ditton, Sr., Endicott, Mrs. Howard [Mary] Caseman, Johnson City.; a brother, Fred Vail, Waymart, Pa.; 16 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was born in Carbondale, Pa., the son of the late Grant and Ida Wolfinden Vail. He formerly resided in Waymart, Pa., and Fla. He retired from IBM Endicott in 1959. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, North Port, Charlotte, Fla. The VFW, Norwich, N.Y., and the Elks, Endicott. Private funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Herbert E. Jenkins Funeral Home, 269 Belmont St., Waymart, Pa. Rev. Russell A. Edwards, Pastor of the Waymart Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Caanaan Corners Cemetery, Wayne County, Pa. There will be no calling hours.
