He would also marry Diana (Lippert) Shields in 1970 in New York City, New York County, and they were married until Francis' death on April 25, 2003 in Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida. They had children Marina Torlonia Shields, Cristiana Torlonia Shields, and Olympia Torlonia Shields.
