Generations Of Family Dysfunction
Francis Bruttomesso apparently grew up in a dysfunctional family. The woman he married (Ruth Morris) was the product of a tragically dysfunctional family. I am their son, Larry Bruttomesso. My childhood was a slow-motion trainwreck. As the twig is bent, so grows the tree! I failed at everything I tried and eventually became a homeless drifter. Their daughter, Dawn had two failed marriages that lasted about three years each, and no children. A third child, Robbie, was given up for adoption and also became a homeless drifter. Francis was a quick-tempered alcoholic. He and my mother divorced when I was four years old. Thus began a long tale of woe. Francis died of stomach cancer in October of 1962. He is buried in West Palm Beach, Florida. All the people mentioned in these words are now dead. I alone am left to tell the tale at the age of 70, with no children of my own. The buck stops here!
