Introduction

Frank Duffield was a descendant of the Fremantle pioneer Duffield family. He left WA around 1890 and appeared in Sydney some years later as a Shakespearean actor. His stage name was Frank Vernon. He married actress Lily Martin but soon divorced. He emerged in Melbourne, married Anna Alice Curham and had a son Edwin Foss Vernon. Edwin Foss Vernon had 2 sons Russell and Graeme. He again divorced and married a Helena Cattlin. Russell can be contacted at r_vernon@optusnet,com,au Not much else is known and no photos have been found.
