Frank Charles Trivellion was born on March 22, 1922 in Ormond, Glen Eira City County, VIC Australia to Hugh Trevelyan John and Irene (Benson) Trivellion, and had a sister Hazel Irene (Trivellion) Brooks. He married Noela Joy (Verryck) Trivellion on December 15, 1945 in New South Wales, and they were married until Frank's death on September 16, 2010. He had children Dianne (Trivellion) Trivellion-Scott and Glenda (Trivellion) Grimshaw. Frank Trivellion was buried at Hinchinbrook Channel.

In 1922, in the year that Frank Charles Trivellion was born, on James Joyce's 40th birthday, his book Ulysses was published in France. The book covers the experiences of an Irishman in Dublin on an ordinary day, 16 June 1904. Now considered a classic, it was controversial at the time. Due to some sexual content, the book was banned in the U.S. during the 1920's and the U.S. Post Office destroyed 500 copies of the novel.
