My view of my grandfather was that he was a tough old guy who never lost his military swagger. He served in WWII and Korea. He Earned a Purple Heart in WWII. He earned the rank of officer through battlefield promotion. I remember he was funny. Also had the best internal alarm clock. He had a quick temper and had no problem beating someone (who deserved it) senseless. Literally. Not a drinker. Smoked a little when he was younger. He was married 3 times. His first wife wasn't discussed. His 2nd wife (my grandmother) was the love of his life. After she passed, he met his 3rd wife Faye, and settled in Pensacola, FL.
