Frank was a small French speaking black man. He smoked a brown pipe and I remember the smell of his apple flavored tobacco. I remember spending weekends at his home and observing the interactions of him and his wife Bernadette. I have so many childhood memories of them both.

My name is Frankie Boyd. I was born August 22 1966. My mother's maiden name was Mary Francis Tousant. Her father was Calvin Tousant, Frank's son. Frank Tousant was my Great Grand Father. My uncle was Marshal Tousant. When I spent time with Frank, my Great Grandfather, he told me stories of his life as a boy in Louisiana. I promised him one day I would write a book about him. I have yet to do so.
