Frankye Faye (Darbonne) was born to parents Bennett Louis and Lillian Jane Wyble Darbonne in 1942. She had a sister named Johnnie Rae Darbone Pace (1945-2003). In October of 1958, Frankye Darbonne was voted homecoming queen of Erath High School in Erath, Louisiana. She was voted FHA (Future Homemakers of America) President that year. After high school, she attended University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1963 located in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA. Professional Career

Miss Darbonne was my 5th grade teacher in the 1968-1969 school year, Lakewood Elementary School, St. Petersburg, Florida. During that year, she married and became Mrs. Medus. She was one of my most memorable teachers, strict, but also kind and encouraging. She drove a VW Beetle, and sometimes took me grocery shopping with her! I don’t know if she continued to teach throughout her career, but she’ll always be remembered as one of my favorites.
