Yes, Fred was the kind of man that had he remained in the army he would have been a four star general. He was just that kind of dedicated man.

The Fred I knew

Fred once related that his family name had been Mc Collister at one time but somewhere along the way the Mc was dropped, leaving it Collister.

Fred was a conscientious, hard working, loyal friend. He was expert in everything he did. He would sometime reminisce about flying, showing photo of a small plane he owned when he was younger

He was a fine gentleman, always polite snd considerate.

I suspect that if he had stayed in the army he would have been a four star general. I was privileged to call him my good and faithful friend.
