    Johan Fredrich Klotsch came to America around 1850. His father died when he was 15 so he was raised by his stepfather around Zaundorf near Glauzig, Saxony Germany. Johan's stepfather was August Lumgor, a piano teacher who built pianos. Johan settled in the St. Louis, Missouri area and married Charlotte W. Steinbeck. They are buried in a cemetery in Olivette, Missouri. Johan & Charlotte owned businesses and land in the Olivette area. Their daughter, Mari married Johan Mekan. This is where the Klotsch family got their start in Missouri.
