  • Introduction

    Fred Ord Bingman Sr. was born to Fred Orlando Bingman (1901-1983) and Irene N. Bingman (1903-1944), and had a sister Audrey Mae Bingman (1930-1931). A World War 2 Veteran, Fred enlisted in the United States military on August 14th 1945 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania when he was only 18 years old. On January 31st 1950 he married Winifred Estelle Black (1927-2004) in West Side Presbyterian Church in McKeesport Pennsylvania. They had two daughters including Irene Elizabeth (1955-1961) who passed away as a child, and a son.

    The following appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on Thursday July 31, 1997: Suddenly, on Tuesday, July 29, 1997, Fred O., age 70, of Elizabeth Twp., retired metallurgical engineer for Westinghouse; husband of Winifred Black Bingman; father of Elizabeth Irene Downey and Fred Bingman; six grandchildren; step-son of Josephine Bingman; also nieces and nephews. Friends received at the DANIEL F. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME 4504 Walnut Street, Versailles Borough, McKeesport, Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services at the funeral home Friday at 11:30 a.m.
