He married Mary Machuga Stanford on March 30, 1946 at Esther Meany's Home in Aliquippa, Beaver County, PA, and had children Roy Stanford, Kathryn Godfrey, Carol (Stanford) Braudt, Mary Ellen (Stanford) Long, Fredrick Stanford, and Robert Stanford. Fred Stanford died at age 79 years old on June 7, 1999 at Butler VA Hospital Butler Pennsylvania in Center Twp. (Monaca), Beaver County, Pennsylvania USA, and was buried on June 9, 1999 at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park 273 PA-68, in Rochester.

Fred's Mother was born in Sweden and came to the America. His Father was born in England and came to America.

Fred was born in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania Clarion County. His nationality is English and Swedish. He spent most of his youth and teen years there. He went off to War and was shipped to Normandy, France. When he arrived back in the states he came to Aliquippa, Pennsylvania to be with his sister Mary. He met Mary Machuga they fell in Love and married 6 months later on March 30, 1946 and moved to Center Twp. where they started there family of six children, three boys' and three girls. They remaind married their for 53 years until his Birthday into Heaven.

Fred was in grade school and had to leave up to the eigth grade and had to help support his family. His mother died when he was three years old, so he never got to really know her. His childhood was rough, but he weathered it out and became a wonderful person whom I admire and miss.

Fred didn't have a religion as a child. After he started a family he became Lutheran. He had a good belief in God even though he didn't show it, but rest assured I know in my heart he is in Heaven with my Mother.

Fred was employed by the Aliquippa Works, Jones & Laughin Steel Corp. for 28 years.

Fred spent his time gardening, an avid hunter, reading and traveling throughout our country.
