Freddie E Deaton of Dyersburg, Dyer County, TN was born on October 25, 1936 to Franklin O'Bryant Deaton and Mary Agnes Ellis. He married Martha Alice Harrison, and had a child Tina Latricia Deaton. Freddie Deaton died at age 71 years old on May 8, 2008, and was buried in May 2008 at Everett Church Cemetery 1561 Blaylock Store Rd, in McKenzie, Weakley County.

In 1941, at the age of just 5 years old, Freddie was alive when on June 25th, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 8802, prohibiting racial discrimination in the defense industry. EO 8802 was the first federal action to prohibit employment discrimination - without prejudice as to "race, creed, color, or national origin" - in the U.S. Civil Rights groups had planned a march on Washington D.C. to protest for equal rights but with the signing of the Order, they canceled the March.
