Meeting Freddie Graham
Norah Godlee, my great aunt, was in London, studying art at the Central School of Art. She wrote home to Australia on August 31, 1926, about meeting 'Freddie Graham' and her sister in London. They were living with a Miss Jenkins, who was Norah's friend. In Norah's letter she says: 'Freddie Graham, one of the girls there, is an artist, & I liked her so much. She is an old Central girl and is going to introduce me to some of the more advanced pupils at school. It was all most interesting to me. I saw quite lots of her work. She does ripping posters. I am hoping to have Miss Jenkins and the two Graham girls out here before we leave the flat. Freddie lent me a good book on design & advised me to change my design master, if possible. I will if I can.'
