His father Johann Fredrich Meyer was born on August 7, 1869 in Germany and immigrated to the US around 1884-1886. He became a naturalized citizen on April 28, 1891 and resided in Easthampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, USA. He passed away on December 18, 1942. His mother Rosine "Rose" Christiane Hafner was born on December 31, 1873 in Zweiflingen, Friedrichsrube, Germany and immigrated to the US aboard the S. S. Rotterdam with her family. They arrived in New York, New York on September 4, 1883. She married Johann on June 3, 1891 at Turners Falls. She passed away on August 12, 1948 in Easthampton, Massachusetts, USA.
