    My Grandpa..Fredrick Edward Catching Passed Away Feb.18th,2009 of a Heart Attack In Raleigh,NC. His Funeral Was Feb.22nd,2009 at First Presbyterian Church of Downtown Raleigh with our Whole Family in Attendance at 2:00pm. The church held a Luncheon for the Family before the service and we held a reception for friends after the service. He Did 21 Years of Service in the Marine Corp earning him serveral medals in WW2,Korea,etc. and 21 Years for IBM Computers and Volunteer work at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. He Survived by: His third Wife Emalyne Ritchie Walls Catching,his CHILDREN: Mike Catching,Patricia Catching Pillars,Barbara Catching Rodgers,Susan Catching Worthy,his GRANDCHILDREN: Lissy Beebe Wood,Laura Beebe,Derek Worthy,Julie Rodgers,Susie Pillars,Rebecca Rodgers,Christopher Catching,Emily Worthy,and Abby Worthy, his GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Davis Wood, Jackson (Emily Worthy's Son), Chloe Rose (Abby Worthy's Daughter), Taylor (Derek's Daughter), Huxley (Susie's Son), and Aurora (Susie's Daughter).

In 1925, in the year that Frederick E Catching was born, in July, the Scopes Trial - often called the Scopes Monkey Trial - took place, prosecuting a substitute teacher for teaching evolution in school. Tennessee had enacted a law that said it was "unlawful to teach human evolution in any state-funded school". William Jennings Bryan headed the prosecution and Clarence Darrow headed the defense. The teacher was found guilty and fined $100. An appeal to the Supreme Court of Tennessee upheld the law but overturned the guilty verdict.
