He had siblings Hibbert Liddard Newton, John William Liddiar Newton, Dorothea Newton, Susan Louisa Catherine Newton, Thomas George Newton, and Henry Gildea Newton. He married Florence Margaret (Looker) Newton in 1890, and had children Frederick John Hervey Newton, Geoffrey Liddiard Newton, Ethel Mary Murton, Leonard Looker Newton, Margaret Flora Newton, and Henry Wilkinson Newton. Frederick Newton died at age 78 years old on April 2, 1946.
