His mother was born in Michigan in 1902 and married William on March 25, 1918 in Ishpeming, Michigan. The couple resided in Marquette, Michigan, USA and Kingsford, Dickinson, Michigan, USA before divorcing on October 29, 1935. His father William was born on July 18, 1894 in Michigan and grew up in Ishpeming City, Marquette, Michigan. After he and Alena divorced, William resided in Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan. He passed away in 1970.
