    Fred loved music and theater. He had a rich singing voice with warm tones in the lower register and soaring high notes in his high tenor range. He sang with the choir at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Portland, Maine and the Boston Gay Mens Chorus. He was very active in theater and performed with Portland Lyric Theater, Studio Theater of Bath, Brunswick Choral Society, City Theater (Biddeford, ME) and Plays and Players in Philadelphia. His favorite roles were the cockroach archie in archie and mehitable, Paul in A Chorus Line, and Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof. Fred loved flowers and delighted in planting and maintaining his gardens on his North Saco farm.
