Gabriel Geddie Phares was born on October 2, 1844 at Alabama to Isaac Phares Sr. and Elizabeth Geddie, and had siblings Isaac Phares Jr., Mary Phares, Elizabeth Phares, Daniel Phares, and Catherine Phares. He married Sarah L. Phipps, and had children Luda D. "Ludie" Phares and Ella Phares. Gabriel Phares died at age 62 years old on February 3, 1907 at Tuscaloosa County, AL, and was buried at Big Sandy Baptist Church 14611 Old Greensboro Rd, in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama United States.
