    Gary Ray Godat, 57, a resident of Yellville, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born October 31, 1955, in Centralia, Illinois to the late Francis Lee, Sr. and Myrtle Evelyn Stubblefield Godat. He married Janise Louise Close on July 5, 1986 in Lakeland, Florida. Gary was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Yellville, the Estes-Williams American Legion Hut # 61 in Yellville and the Christian Motorcyclist Association. He loved his family and his church. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Godat. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Jan Godat of Yellville; a son, Eddie Godat of Yellville; two grandchildren, Nioka and Alyssa Godat, both of Yellville; a daughter, Valerie Godat of Yellville; a step-daughter and her husband, Cindy and Mark Surber of Temple, Texas; his mother-in-law, Ellen Close of Yellville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis, Jr. and Joyce Godat of Yellville, Kenneth and Karen Godat of Yellville and Randy Godat of Flippin. Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013, at the New Hope Baptist Church, 3920 Highway 14 South, Yellville, Arkansas 72687 with Brother Jack Jefferson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church, 3920 Highway 14 South, Yellville, Arkansas 72687.
