He married Barbara Ann Boyer (Née Goetz), and has children Jennifer Ann Boyer and Jason C. Boyer. Gary Boyer died at age 59 years old on October 16, 2009, and was buried at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Section C Site 909 Veterans Road - Box 669, in Evansville, Wy.
