3 Memories, Stories & Photos about George

Bertha, George, and Helen
Bertha, George, and Helen
Bronislawa "Bertha" (Zlatykanicz) Sositko with her son in law, George Henry and her daughter, Helen Josephine (Sositko) Henry in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio in late spring (in June?) of 1934. Helen was pregnant and 19 years old. George was still 29 years old. George was the son of Lena Tribbey (raised partly in Oxford, Ohio) and Leroy Henry (raised in Darrtown, Ohio).
George was Helen's first husband and they were married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hamilton, Ohio. No photos of their wedding have been found but the newspaper said Helen was a lovely bride in her wedding gown of white lace and satin with flowing veil with white slippers and hose and carried white carnations. The maid of honor (Thelma Henry) wore a pink frock with gray accessories and carried pink carnations. Helen was pregnant with their first child in this photo.
Helen later married second to Fred W. Cook (George's younger brother) in 1946. Helen and Fred were my mother, Terry (Cook) Tuttle Bradley's parents.
Helen lived at her mother in law, Lena (Tribbey) Henry Cook's house when she was married to George and she lived in the same house at beginning of her marriage to Fred.
Sositko has also been spelled as Sitko.
Date & Place: in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio United States
