    Obituary for George A. Intile Major George A. Intile, 91, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2014. Maj. Intile was born in Caldwell, NJ, son of the late Sebastiano and Marie Intile, and was pre-deceased by 8 siblings. Maj. Intile was a combat veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific theater as a reconnaissance pilot in the US Army Air Corp, 1st Cavalry division. After his service in active duty, for which he was awarded numerous commendations for bravery under enemy fire, Maj. Intile remained active in the Army Reserve and the NJ Air National Guard for another thirty years, while working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and raising a family. He is survived by his loving family, including his four sons, John J. Intile, MD and his wife, Kathleen, Michael B. Intile and his wife, Gina, Carl T. Intile and his wife, Ruth, Thomas A. Intile and eleven grandchildren whom he adored. Visitation will be held at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home in Toms River on Tuesday, January 14, from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:15am, Wednesday, January 15, at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, Old Freehold Rd, Toms River. Arrive at the funeral home 8:15am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project: () Interment with military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. www.silvertonmemorial.com
