    George C. Stafford Jr. of The Nottingham, Jamesville, NY died Sunday at The Nottingham. Born in 1922 in Broome County, NY, he retired as president of Rogers and Stafford Inc., a Syracuse insurance firm. Mr. Stafford was a graduate of Syracuse University with a master's in business administration. He served as president of the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Central New York and Syracuse University Alumni Inter-fraternity Council. He was a member of the Varsity Club, Society of Fellows, Ganders Lecture Committee School of Education, and the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. Mr. Stafford received the Dean's outstanding Alumni Award, School of Education, The Melvin A. Eggers Senior Alumni Award and the Letter Winner of Distinction, Varsity Club of Syracuse University. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral and its Vestry, The Downtown Syracuse YMCA, Metro Onondaga YMCA, Meals on Wheels, and the English Speaking Union, Syracuse Branch. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Following the death of his wife, Margaret Parker Stafford, Ph.D. in 1996, he continued her lectures on the history of First Ladies of the United States. Dr. Stafford was a former faculty member at Syracuse University and Cazenovia College. He is survived by his nieces, Janice S. Dudley, Norfolk, VA and Gail A. Stafford , Austin, TX. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 2, at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service in the Brewster Room of the Cathedral. Contributions may be made to the Margaret Stafford Traditions Scholarship Fund, Syracuse University, 820 Comstock Ave., Suite 214, Syracuse, NY 13210, or to the Margaret Stafford Endowed Scholarship, Cazenovia College Development Office, 22 Sullivan St., Cazenovia, NY 13035, or to St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, 310 Montgomery St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
