George Jess died at age 84 years old on April 27, 1926 in Bendigo, VIC Australia, and was buried at Bendigo Public Cemetery, 70 Carpenter St,, in Quarry Hill.

Kirk ), and Carl ( General Jess, Tasmania ). Aged 85 years. - At rest.

In 1841, in the year that George Carl Herman August Jess was born, on August 16th, President John Tyler vetoed a bill to re-establish the Second Bank of the United States - America's Central Bank. President Jackson had previously dissolved the bank and Tyler's veto angered the Whig Party (his own party). It may have been the most violent demonstration on White House grounds in U.S. history.
