    George Cuff Quin was born to George Augustus Quin (1854 - 1918) and Mary Ann Ralston (1862 - 1946). His father was born in England and his mother was born in Victoria, Australia. He had ten siblings: Arthur, Florence, Oriel, Martha, Margaret, Invermay, Victor, William, Neil, and Alfred Quin. George Quin was in the military (see George Cuff Quin: Military Service for details) and was married twice (see George Cuff Quin: Personal Life). He had ten children in total.

George's second marriage was to Olive Emily Webster (1896 - 1986) in 1921. They had eight children: Ronald, Peggy, Betty, Francis, Nancy, Victor, Colin, and another Quin daughter.
