My uncle George was my mom's brother and he was always my favorite uncle. He was very skilled as an artist and could draw and sketch, but he was very skilled as a carpenter too. He was a very kind man with a wonderful sense of humor, could tell great stories about how he got in trouble as a boy, and I always adored him. He loved his yard and grew beautiful flowers and never was too busy to talk to people. He wanted to join his brothers fighting in World War II, but he couldn't pass the physical to get into the army. He was a skilled tool and die maker.
