George Jarred 1908 - 1974

George Jarred was born in 1908 to Charles William Jarred and Sarah (Bussey) Jarred, and had siblings Jack Jarred, Percival Louis Jarred, and Ivy Kelly. He married Ella Jarred, and had children Kevin Jarred, Ellen Jarred, and Joy Jarred. George Jarred died at age 65 years old on July 20, 1974, and was buried at Cairns Cemetery in Manunda, Cairns Regional County, QLD Australia.

In 1908, in the year that George Jarred was born, a mysterious Siberian explosion leveled over 770 square miles of forest. There were no human casualties. Explanations of the explosion have included a comet, meteorite, natural atomic explosion, or a crashed UFO. Although it is called an impact event - the largest one in recorded earth history - there is no crater and it is widely thought that the explosion was caused by a meteor exploding 3 to 6 miles above the earth.

In 1924, by the time he was 16 years old, on January 21st, Vladimir Lenin, a leader of the Russian Revolution and the first leader of the Soviet Union died. He had survived two assassination attempts but had subsequent physical problems, suffering 3 strokes. He was in such great pain, it is said that he asked Stalin to poison him. The circumstances of his death are still disputed. He did oppose Stalin as the next leader - nonetheless, Stalin won a power struggle and ruled as a Soviet dictator until his death in 1953.
