He was married to Emmeline "Emily" Louise McLear ( Newstead, and had children George Alfred McLear, Mary Ann Aust ( McLear, John "Jack" McLear, Emily McLear, Henry McLear., Kathleen Pettigrew ( McLear, Samuel McLear, and Evelyn Guy ( McLear. George Mclear died at age 78 years old in 1918, and was buried in Dromana, Mornington Peninsula Shire County, VIC.
