    The United States military classified his civilian occupation as "Retail Managers". George, age 31, told the 1950 Federal census that he was a butcher in his own butcher shop. He owned Clinton Provision Company for many years and then began Mar-Gee Plastics in 1962 and in 1980 added Mar-Gee Plastics and Trophies to the business. He retired in 1994.

George P. Regenwether married Marvel LaVerle Sweesey (1920 - 1978) on October 23rd, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa and they had children Judith Ann "Judy", Orin Lee, Janet K "Sue", Ronnie "Ron" or "Bench" and Gary. George was a Golden Glove boxer, played baseball and softball in the Industrial League in Clinton, Iowa, and was a square-dance instructor. He was survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two step-greatgrandchildren.
