He had siblings Mary Elizabeth Webley, Charles Alfred Webley, Agnes Eva Webley, and Frederick William Webley. George Webley died at age 47 years old in 1917 in Mildura.

In 1870, in the year that George Stanley Webley was born, on January 26th, the state of Virginia rejoined the Union. On February 23rd, Mississippi was readmitted to the Union. On March 30th, Texas was readmitted to the Union. And on July 15th, Georgia became the last Confederate state to be readmitted to the Union.
Did you know?
In 1886, when he was 16 years old, on May 4th, a general strike began in Chicago. Workers were striking for an 8 hour workday and in protest of the killing - by police - of several workers the day before. When an unknown person threw a dynamite bomb, the strike became violent. Seven policemen were killed as well as 4 civilians. It became known as the Haymarket Riot and eventually resulted in an 8 hourwork day as well as commemorations on May 1st for worker's rights.
