George Stetson Chesbrough, 54, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, after a six-year battle with heart disease. George was born Oct. 16, 1956, in San Francisco, to Ralph C. and Jessie (Stetson) Chesbrough. He moved with his parents to St. Helena in 1962, where he attended elementary school, Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School, then high school. He had two daughters with his ex-wife, Christine Anderson: April Marie and Charrise Nicole. Thirteen years ago he moved to Big Oak Flat, Calif., with his companion Debra Smith. He resided there at the time of his death. He is survived by his daughter, Charrise of Portland; granddaughter, Jordan Austin of Hidden Valley, Calif.; sisters, Evelyn (Albert H.) Styles of Windsor, Calif., and Margaret (Melvin) Krupka of St. Helena; brothers, Ralph E. (Margot) Chesbrough of Paradise, Calif., and Samuel (Kathy) of Napa; his companion, Debra Smith, and her family. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, April Batcheledor; and sisters, Helen Chesbrough and Phyllis Rosa.
