    CALEDONIA, Minn. (Special) - Gerald J. Koenig, 53, Caledonia, died Thursday at Veterans Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn, after a long illness. He had been employed at Trane Co., La Crosse, Wis., a number of years. The son of Peter and Margaret Longueville Koenig, he was born at Caledonia, April 21, 1923. On July 6, 1944, he married Helen Eikens at St. Peter's Church, Caledonia. He was a World War Il veteran and a member of Loveless-Eikens American Legion Post 191, Caledonia. Survivors are: his wife; one son, Thomas, Wonona; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Susan) Burg, La Crescent, Minn.; Miss Evelyn Koenig, Boston, Mass., and Nancy at home; his parents, Caledonia; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Leon (Elaine) Fisch and Mrs. Roger (Ann) Koel, Caledonia. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Steffen Funeral Home, Caledonia, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, the Rev. Charles J. Ouinn officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by members of Loveless-Eikens Post 191. Friends may call Sunday after 2 p.m. at the funeral home where a Rosary will be recited at 8. Published Friday May 14, 1976 in The Winona Daily News (Winona, Minnesota).
