    GERARD NOWICKI OBITUARY Gerrld R. Nowicki Gerard R. Nowicki, 70, of Bolingbrook, passed away Friday September 3rd at Edward Hospital in Naperville after a long illness. Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years Dolores (nee) Zarnowski; he was father of Robert (Terri) Nowicki, Karen (Brian) Schweik, and Susan (Charles) Stradley; grandfather of Candice Gurley, Brittany and Brock Schweik and Jonathon Nowicki. Born in New Jersey December 18, 1939, he was the son of the late Raymond and Theodora (Gajkowski) Nowicki and the brother of Anne (Edward) Walus. Jerry was also the nephew of the late Adam Gayek, Felicia Yaremchek, Clara Gajkowski, Theodore Gajkowski and cousin of Barbara Sanok and John Nowicki. He was the brother-in-law of Alberta (Edward) Mazutis, uncle to Joseph (Jacque) Mazutis, Barbara Nelson and Gary (Tami) Mazutis; great uncle to Marissa Nelson and Gabe, Noah, and Tatum Mazutis. Jerry graduated from Lyndhurst High School in 1956. He attended Fairleigh Dickenson University in New Jersey and Lewis University in Illinois. Jerry lived in Bolingbrook since 1965, was a Bolingbrook Fire and Police Commissioner from 1967 to 1984 and currently was on the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Aviation Museum at Clow International Airport. Jerry retired from the paint coating industry in 2007 after 52 years in as a chemist and salesperson. In honor of his wishes, services were private. He was cremated at McCauley Funeral Home in Bolingbrook. This obituary was originally published in the Bolingbrook Sun.
