    Blanchard, Gerard H. "Rod", 68, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Gerard J. and the late Doris A. (Harrison) Blanchard. Mr. Blanchard was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and worked on nuclear submarines out of Groton, CT. He earned his degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America and worked as a chef for many years before retiring in 2007. He is survived by his sisters, Hope Parece of Warren and Charleen Anthony of Florida; nephews, Michael Picard, Jacob Parece and Daniel and Jamie Rogers; niece, Abigail Parece; 5 great nephews and 3 great nieces. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug 11, 2015 from 9:30 am to 10:30 AM at Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren, RI followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 AM. Burial with Military Honors will be at 12 PM in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, S. County Trail, Exeter, RI.
