    Glen R. DeWitt, age 73, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of Perry, IL, died on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 1:34 AM in Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 25, 1936 in Versailles, IL, the son of James & Dora (Ritter) DeWitt. He married Barbara McGee in 1956. She preceded him in death. Glen was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. DeWitt served 26 years in the United States Air Force in the Medial Corps. He flew Air Evac during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1970. After this, Glen spent 16 years as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Veterans Administration. Glen is survived by: A SON: Dr. Douglas M. DeWitt and his wife Dr. Lori J. DeWitt of Hebron, MD; TWO GRANDCHILDREN: Morgan and Parker DeWitt; FIVE SISTERS: Grace Childers, Ora Mae Griggs, Shirley Myers, Vera Cooper and her husband Roy and Alice Phillips; ONE BROTHER: Marion DeWitt and his wife Helen; Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives including a special niece Virginia Griggs also survive. Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and four siblings: Elizabeth Peacock, James DeWitt, Robert DeWitt and Donald DeWitt. Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
