Gloria Jean (Grossi) Gemma was born to Antonio Grossi (1884 - 1957) and Giovannina "Jennie" Di Bello (1892 - 1940). Both of her parents were born in Italy. She had one sister, Anna Nancy, and four half siblings: one half-brother and three half-sisters. Gloria Grossi married Eleuterio "Larry" Gemma (1928 - 1952) and they had nine surviving children and one daughter, Carol, who died in infancy in 1952.
