Gordon joined WW2 underaged, later joined the First Canadian Paratroop Battalion and jumped behind enemy lines prior to D-day.
Gordon later joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, eventually becoming the head artillery instructor. Gordon served as a United Nations peacekeeper with tours in Korea, Cypress, India/Pakistan. Gordon served with NATO at Richards Gabour Airforce Base in Kansas City, USA.
Rising to the rank of Major, Gordon retired after serving at Canadian Forces Base Calgary.
