He had older siblings Nickolas and Virginia Allemenos. He served in the US Army from August 5, 1944 until July 3, 1946. He is a veteran of World War II. On November 8, 1953 he married Katherine Alexopoulos in a ceremony at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church by the bride's grand uncle. They had a child together. Gus was the owner of the Arrow Bar and Grill in Toledo, Ohio.
