Hannah (Hendy) Frey of Australia was born circa December 31, 1837. Hannah was baptized on December 31, 1837 at S Swithins, Walcot at Bath. She was married to Charles George Frey, and had children Charles George Joseph Frey, Mary Josephine Lillian (Lillie), Charles George Joseph (George), Frederick William Henry Frey, Emma Flora Frey, Ida Pauline (Minnie), Charles Albert (Charlie), Otto Adolph (Alfred) Frey, Alice May Frey, and Mabel Winifred Frey. Hannah Frey died at age 80 years old on May 10, 1918 in Collingwood, VIC.

In 1837, in the year that Hannah Hendy Frey was born, on March 4th, Martin Van Buren was sworn in as the eighth President of the United States. Van Buren won 50.8% of the popular vote over election rival Harrison's 36.6%, largely due to Van Buren's promise to continue (previous) President Jackson's policies. But Van Buren only served one term because of the Panic of 1837 - which was due to Jackson's economic policy.

In 1842, at the age of merely 5 years old, Hannah was alive when in January, William E. Clarke - a medical student at Berkshire Medical College - became the first person to use an inhaled anesthetic. He administered the anesthetic to pull a tooth.
