To know him was to love him. Harlan V. Futrell was born in Saint Louis Mo; where he was raise by and single mother 'Betty Taylor' and he also was raise with four sisters who he love very much. When he was and young teenager he met his love of his life and soon to be wife "Shirley A. Futrell". They went on to have five boys and two girls. He love his kids Antoine,Donjuan,Carvon,Charon and Little Harlan and his girls Roxanne and Precious and a host of grand kids! He also have a host of niece's and nephew's who he love.
When growing up he had to become and man at a very young age being he was the only male in the house hold. When meeting his wife he knew she was the one at first site and went on to marry her and stayed that way until the day he pass away. Even know they got marry when Shirley was 15 and Harlan was 18 years old they raise their kids even when others said they would not last but 35 years later they still remain until Harlan's death. The love he had for Shirley was unbelievable and every one who knew them would say the same. Harlan's kids meant the world to him and would have given anything to make sure they where safe and loved. The look in his eyes when he see one of his kids and the smile he gives is awesome.
Harlan was the life of the party and anyone who ever met him sure did love him. He would turn someone who is was having and bad day into and fun fill of laugher day. He was the type of person who could get alone with anyone and made everyone one feel welcome when in his presents. To know him was to love him!
On October the 19th 2007 he was planning a great day for Shirley because it was her birthday and he had a sudden massive heart attack. His younger son Little Harlan tried to give CPR and to him time after time but Harlan V. Futrell was called home by Yahweh/God on his wife birthday. He remain in the hospital until the 29th of October where he pass away due to no brain activity.
